Prosciutto di San Daniele is protected across the European Union as a protected designation of origin. What that means in practice is that a document exists - the product specification - which fixes the area it may be made in, the raw material it may be made from and the method that may be used, and that a name outside those bounds may not be used on a label.
A protected designation of origin is the stricter of the two schemes. Every stage of production has to happen in the defined area.

What this page does not have
The register records that a specification exists and where it was published. It does not publish the specification text through its API, so this site does not reproduce salting times, ageing minimums or any other production parameter for this product. Those are in the filed document, reachable through the publications above.
Buying this protected name
Everything above is a statement about a document. Prosciutto di San Daniele means the specification filed under PDO-IT-0065 was followed, in the area that specification defines, and that a control body signed it off. A jar of the same word made somewhere else is not a worse version of this product; under EU law it is not this product at all.
That is why the listing below had to carry the protected name in its own title before it could appear here. This site runs one search per registered name and attaches nothing unless the seller makes the claim themselves. There is no substitute, no closest match and no generic stand-in, because the whole subject of this page is that the words are not interchangeable. Look for the protected name and the EU designation mark, not for the word prosciutto, which any dry ham may use.
What the seller is claiming. This listing puts the protected name Prosciutto di San Daniele in its own title, so the seller is making the designation claim rather than describing a style. Whether the product in the box carries the consortium mark is a question about that box, and the mark on the packaging is what answers it.
